So it's Rahm Emmanuel who won the Chicago Mayoral race last Tuesday !
Mr. Emmanuel eluded his nightmare a possibility of a RUN OFF.
But it was a not a surprise to most residents of Windy City as everyone knows the Black voters were divided as there were few Black candidates, the Hispanic votes were also divided as there was not only one but two Hispanic candidates to chose from and who is left ? RHAM EMMANUEL ! The voting public have matured but the candidates probably not as majority of Rahm Emmanuel's votes came from the Black , Hispanic community
and of course the White voters . The election was not a racial issue it was an issue of WHO CAN LEAD CHICAGO... BEST!
The successor of Mayor Daley might be the happiest man on earth but it will be short lived as He is leading a city with a huge budget deficits , high unemployment rates, increasing crime rates , etc.
Mr. Emmanuel had a majority votes but was it a confidence votes? not really, a confidence vote is a landslide win which it wasn't, Mr. Emmanuel has a major job to do ahead of him uniting the fragmented voters and asking the support of the candidates He defeated during the election as these candidates have a huge following accounted for about 50% of the voters who did not believe that He can do the job and keeping those more than 50% of the voters who voted for him on his side, a little mistake Mr. Emmanuel makes would explode into a something bigger , something ugly !
Mr. Emmanuel better be good with his election promises as time goes by so fast that the next time we know it's already another election time !
As citizens and residents of the Windy City it is our responsibility to support whoever is in power let's all be united not fragmented and Rest Assured He'll Make changes ( RAHM) for a better future of our city that is .....CHICAGO!

My e-Valentine!
Woke up Monday mourning err morning , opened my laptop and checked on e-mails hoping that I would read something that would brighten up my day, browsing three pages got me frustrated and a popped up ad is telling me that it is Valentine's day! so hurry up send flowers and chocolate to your special someone so does the ad says and I said to myself ...it is Valentine's day and I don't have a Valentine date as my boyfriend is in Poland...poor me and worst of it all I did not receive any letter, a card , flower or a chocolate from my special someone! so as quick as I turned on my computer I turned it off as fast as the broadband internet connection works!
I was the first person to come to the office and few minutes later on a bubbly and very hyper super energetic co-worker of mine banged the office door, on her hand was a bunch of red roses and proudly greeted everyone a Happy Valentine's Day! Great rub it on lady I whispered to myself, then another co-worker came and boisterously announced to everyone that She has a dinner date with her boyfriend at Tuscany a famous Italian restaurant in Chicago, well I thought I experienced eating at Tuscany with my boyfriend last year but she is eating there with her boyfriend on a special day a Valentine's Day... this made me envious of her!
The day went so fast and it was already very dark outside when I got out of the office I was dragging my feet out as I did not want to leave I just wanted to stay and keep myself busy with work and forget about the significance of the day to the lovers around the globe and on the contrary I reasoned out I am not the only one who's spending Valentine's Day alone there are millions of people across the universe who are by themselves on this special day what about those men and women in the military who are assigned in other countries, those people who are separated due to the demands of their jobs and what about those people whose love ones are no longer with us? What about those children who were abandoned by their mothers while they were young ? Them too need love.....
Valentine's Day is not just for lovers , it is the day that we show our affection to the one's we love it could be a love between two mature adults, the not so mature adults, the young lovers, it could be a platonic love, it could be a love of a child to her or his mother or father, love between siblings and love among people.
At home, as I was pondering about the significance of the day I reminded myself that I am still lucky because I am not loveless although me and my boyfriend are miles away from each other on this very special day but we're in love and that's the most important thing I rationalized so I sat on the couch with my computer on my lap I opened my e-mail and the first mail I opened was the e-mail coming from my boyfriend it was a touchy kind of e-mail and not only that I received bunch of e-flowers and e-kisses !
Does e-lovers the next big thing? May not be that far from happening !!!!!!!!

For Better or for Worse ? Know Our Chicago Mayoral Candidates!
Chicago one of the world's most popular cities is electing its new Mayor come February 22, 2011. Whether we like them or not , whether we root and believe for what each and every candidate is advocating for , we as citizens of the United States of America , we as residents of our beloved Chicago should and must get involved in the electoral processes starting with registering to vote to knowing your candidates , be a responsible citizen don't just go to the polling precinct unprepared , again be a responsible citizen KNOW YOUR CANDIDATES!
" Vote and be counted" as we always hear whenever it's election time aside from "nausea- inducing promises of the Politicians". Save a clips or clips of their campaign promises so that when they get elected and they don't do what they promised they would do once elected you can slap them with those campaign clips!

Snow storm, Landlord, Neighbour
I had to leave work early Tuesday afternoon as the super storm is predicted to hit the Chicago area late afternoon based on reports this will be the second or third super storm historically so on my way home I dropped by Seven Eleven convenience store to buy some food in anticipation of the storm, I bought two loaves of bread, a gallon of 2% milk, a gallon of orange juice, half a dozen noodle soup in different flavors I thanked god for whoever invented noodles it's a life saver, and some batteries for my flashlight as I was anticipating in case there will be a power outage and all I paid for the stuff which I bought was less than twenty five bucks yes I only paid less than twenty five bucks ,I did not know that I could save this much! The super storm is somewhat a learning experience for me.
As I drove near my apartment my Landlord's parking space is available so I immediately parked my car and hurriedly I went inside my apartment as mother nature started blowing its wrath. Two hours later on I was comfortable settling on the couch when the doorbell rang ding dong ding dong I hate that sound of the door bell I thought as I opened the door I could not believe the man standing in front of my very eyes was my Landlord " I am warning you I will have your car towed if you don't get it out right now!" was his words and at the back of my head was a question He would have my car towed on this kind of weather condition and besides ninety nine percent of the time he does not park His car on his parking space why now? So fast I ran to my bedroom and hurriedly donned my winter suit and moved my car... and parked it a block away from my apartment I was still lucky I thought!
Few hours later on just before midnight strike I already finished reading two issues of Financial Times ,the Economist ,People Magazine and as I was on page 123 of Brian Tracy's book entitled Maximum Achievement I noticed that someone is trying to get his car out of the street , the man was trying to maneuver the car back and forth and side to side for almost thirty minutes I said to myself who the heck is out there in the middle of blizzard and snow storm and as I came closer to the window to see who is this person in a miserable situation although I could hardly see what's going outside because of the snow covering the window I could tell that it was my Landlord I know the car he's driving by heart although I felt bad when He told me to move my car, I felt it was my obligation to help Him but how ? was the question, the wind was blowing so hard accompanied by snow , as my mind was debating and thinking on ways to help my Landlord I noticed that there was silence outside aside from the scary sound created by the blowing wind and as I looked through the window the car was already gone and so was my fear that something happens to my Landlord and there was a sudden rush of disappointment as my Landlord's parking space is still unoccupied up to this time, that......w..cked man I mumbled.
Wednesday was nothing but long and boring day I browsed the internet and finished reading Brian Tracy's book, finished my noodles and about to consume the bread, nowhere else to go but in the four corners of my apartment waiting for mother nature to calm down and rest!
Thursday morning I was getting ready for work and as I expected my car was almost half buried with snow and I don't have anything to remove the snow off my car aside from snow scraper that I always have in my car I thought I could not get out of the street before nine o'clock and I will be late for work and as I turned around a man was behind me with him was a shovel " I will help you " he said with a smile, I thought he's an angel, who would have thought that someone will help me and I did not even ask for his help and after almost fifteen minutes getting the snow off my car and clearing the street for my car to get through I handed him money as a "thank you" for his help and he said " no you don't have to pay me I helped you just like I helped my Sister just buy something hot for yourself like coffee it is very cold" He said, so I thanked this stranger again and I waved my hand goodbye . As I was driving to my work I thought I felt so bad Tuesday afternoon ..with this neighborhood , with my Landlord but I was wrong ,so wrong ....
There are still many people out there a Good Samarithan who's willing to help and not expecting something in return but a goodness of the heart!
