Will it be the heavy favorites Ms. Philippines Megan Lynn Young or Ms. Brazil Sancler Frantz? or will it be a hometown girl Ms. Indonesia Vania Larissa ? Will Miss World organization crown a hometown delegate putting the reputation at risk for crowning a hometown delegate 2 years in a row just like what happened a year ago when they crowned the reigning Miss World 2012 Ms China Wenxia Yu my take on this is I don't think so!
The 63 year old beauty pageant has always been marred with controversy first this dominantly muslim country has been protesting the staging of Miss World beauty pageant in their country as they view it offensive and it is against their religious belief showing and parading an almost naked bodies on stage and on television , the women's rights group have been in the past been vocal about beauty pageants as it depicts women as sex objects, another controversy is related to the fast track events pageant followers were claiming that Ms. Indonesia has been a finalist in almost all fast track events because one of the judges is the Pageant Coordinator of Miss World Indonesia, Miss Indonesia Vania Larissa ended up a well deserved win in the talent competition. Another controversy is the inclusion of another delegate in which a ranking official in that country denied sending this delegate as a representative of their country as they did not have such beauty contest. The latest and the most widely read controversy is the article published in UK news involving the heavily favored to win the Miss World Crown come September 28, 2013 the delegate from the Philippines Ms Megan Lynn Young the paper says Ms Young posed naked in a magazine back in 2012 , most pageant followers viewed it as not lewd and that it is artistically done and that the Miss World Organization did not view it as pornographic.
